Want to snorkel in Sayulita? The main beach of Sayulita is better suited for surfers rather than snorkelers but there are some great snorkel locations within walking distance from the main beach and near Sayulita. It is advisable to bring your own snorkeling equipment to Sayulita Mexico, however limited rentals are available at local shops. If you would rather take a snorkeling excursion and see some of the area’s best snorkeling locations, see our Tours and Adventures page. (snorkeling equipment is provided on tours).
Mercado del Pueblo is the only Farmer’s Market in Nayarit and the first in the Bahia de Banderas. We feature local, organic, and natural consumable goods from the region. Recently, local artisans were also added. Every Friday, during the growing season from November-April, come enjoy the products of the area from vegetables and fruits to medicinal products and prepared artisan foods and handmade jewelry.
You should absolutely make sure your Sayulita itinerary includes walking the colorful streets of this picturesque town both during the day and at night. Just meander around and take in all the beautiful street art, check the markets for unique artisan decor, clothing and trinkets.
You will quickly see why wandering and admiring the streets is one of the best things to do in Sayulita – every few feet you will likely see someone stopped in their tracks taking a picture of something! It’s just that pretty here.
For dinner, You can enjoy Emiliano’s. Av Revolucion is little quieter and attracts more of the 30-something crowd. Whereas Calle Jose Mariscal is a little busier with a younger crowd.
Also, everyone here rents golf carts to cruise around in! There are probably more golf carts than cars or motorcycles.
For incredible views of both the mountains and the ocean, hike up Cerro del Mono, also known as Monkey Mountain. It’s a 45 minute hike, but absolutely worth it if you’re looking for the best place to watch the sunset. This hike is located in between Punta de Mita and Sayulita. It’s a little tricky to find, so the best way to experience this incredible hike is by tour. Head into the jungle on this guided tour where you get to learn about the history of the area and all the flora and fauna along the way. The panoramic viewpoint at the top is one of the best hidden gems in Sayulita that not many tourists know about yet. Check our Sayulita vacation home rentals by owner properties.

EXCELLENT Based on 41 reviews PaulaJuly 18, 2023Verified From the moment I walked in, I fell in love with Mi Casita. It is absolutely perfect. Bright and cheerful and very peaceful. It has private balcony with a partial ocean view, you can hear the waves crash. The unit was spotless clean and well equipped. The surroundings are beautiful and well maintained. A short walk down some steps and you are on a beautiful, peaceful, very quiet and immaculately clean beach. Nothing compared to the beach in town... you will see. Mi Casita is in a residential area on the north side of Sayulita which is much quieter and less populated. The town is a short walk, about 10-15 min, from the street or the beach. It is apparently the place to be if you are looking for action and all the restaurants and other amenities. I highly recommend you booking a stay in this beautiful property. There are a few adjacent properties and they can accommodate a larger group making it a great place for a family vacation. I definitely plan on coming back FaeApril 29, 2023Verified Our stay at Mi Casita was wonderful! We liked being walking distance to the main hub of downtown, but far away enough that all we could hear at night were the ocean waves. Unfortunately the nearby construction meant we didn’t spend as much time enjoying the sweet patio as I would have liked, but overall it was a wonderful experience! MichelleApril 7, 2023Verified This is a great place! The views are amazing since it is right on the beach. You can leave the large sliding doors open at night and hear the waves. It is in a very quiet, residential part of town but only a 10-15 minute walk to the restaurants and shops. You can also rent a golf cart to drive back and forth. The beach right outside is almost empty, so you have it all to yourself, much different than the packed beaches full of vendors and families closer to town. We loved both! The construction noise was not an issue for us. They did not start too early or stay too late, and the noise was not super noticeable from the room or the beach. ToddMarch 7, 2023Verified Nicely situated on the north end of sayulita beach. Very private. Steps to the beach had a wonderful vacation. Would recommend EnolaMarch 1, 2023Verified Incredible location. Right beside a beautiful beach with privacy and seclusion while still being within walking distance to the town. We didn’t find the walk too bad - took us about 10 minutes to town. This Airbnb is remote work friendly - wifi worked really well and I was able to take Zoom calls and phone calls through the internet for two full days without issue or any outages. There is construction but we didn’t find it to be a disturbance if we closed the balcony doors and I did not really notice it while I was working with the balcony door shut. Loved the decor and design of the airbnb - it was bright and sunny and had a traditional feel. Would certainly recommend! OscarJanuary 4, 2023Verified We were looking for a quiet place with privacy. It was perfect. It's a bit of walk to the main part of town, but the peace and quiet was worth it. Renting a golf cart is super handy since parking a car in town is not easy. It's difficult to capture the ambiance with just pictures. At night we would open the main patio doors and the patio door in the bathroom. They had screen doors, so we kept them closed. Then we could sleep to the sound of the waves crashing on the beach and not have to worry about mosquitos. MelissaNovember 15, 2022Verified We loved Andrea’s traditional Mexican casita, in a place that is definitely starting to modernize… Angela’s place is a welcoming cozy home. FrederikOctober 6, 2022Verified This is a beautiful place right by the beach, away from the crowds. All staff is super friendly and helpful!
